The Life Sub Aquatic. BBC Radio 4

My documentary The Life Sub-Aquatic for BBC Radio 4 explores the dream of living beneath the waves.

Featuring my chats with many wonderful people including singing spaceman Chris Hadfield about how living underwater prepared him for life in outer space and veteran oceanographer Sylvia Earle tells me about the time she danced with an octopus in the deep sea.

And I pay a visit to the world’s only underwater research station, the Aquarius Reef Base, to get my own taste of life as an aquanaut.

The documentary was brilliantly produced by Rami Tzabar from the BBC Radio Science Unit and aired on Radio 4 on September 3rd and you can catch it again online here.

And you can read more about the Aquarius Reef Base and the dream of living underwater in my feature article for the BBC Magazine.
