Sole Food

Back in 2012, I spent time in West Africa including on the tiny 80km coastline of The Gambia. I met fishermen who catch various fish varieties, including two species of sole (black and red sole) that back then were being considered for a Marine Stewardship Council eco-label.

In my feature article for Hakai Magazine, I recount my trip along Gambia’s coast and investigate how things have progressed since my visit.
