Lecture at the Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach, California

On October 5th (7pm PDT) I’ll be speaking at the Aquarium of the Pacific about my old friends, the seahorses, the topic of my first book Poseidon’s Steed.

I’m delighted to be visiting the aquarium, where a new Horses and Dragons exhibit has recently opened. I’ll be revealing why seahorses are so hard to spot, how they dance every day, and how they came to be the only animals in the world in which males give birth. I will also look into how seahorses are endangered by modern threats rooted in ancient beliefs.

Tickets are available to order here. And if you can’t make it, there will be a live stream of my talk on the aquarium’s website. I will be taking questions at the end of the lecture and you can take part via Twitter using #aopscales.
