Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction
My book What the Wild Sea Can Be has been longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction.
It’s hard to put into words how it feels to see my book rubbing covers with all a stack of incredible titles by 15 amazing authors, and to know my book has been read, considered and chosen by the fabulous judging panel.
My book is a collaboration with many wonderful women and men who helped bring it to life, especially Clare Drysdale, Karen Duffy, Margaret Sutherland Brown and Emily Burns. Thank you all.
I chatted with the Women’s Prize about all things ocean and how I researched and wrote the book.
This is the second year of the prize that was launched to redress the gender imbalance in literary non-fiction.
The winner will be announced in June.
